Every wedding morning I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing has been truly magical, and Laura’s was no exception! Laura married the love of her life Rich, on Saturday 22 July 2017 in her local church in Hove and had her wedding reception for 100+ guests in her parents’ stunning home nearby. Yes, that’s right… her family home! Did I mention it was stunning?!
I had the pleasure of meeting Laura in April this year, when she invited me to her parents’ home for her hair trial, where we tried a selection of up do’s. Laura told me all about her wedding plans and how it had been her lifelong dream of having her wedding reception here, where she had grown up. I didn’t even need to question why! Her parents’ home was breath taking. A stunning brick building, at the end of a long private road, with a gravel driveway surrounded by acres of beautiful fields, trees and flowers.
I arrived early at Laura’s house on the morning of her wedding where she showed me to her bright and airy kitchen and dining area, which was temporarily converted to the bridal parties dressing room. The morning started early and quietly with just Laura and I but before long there were a flurry of other arrivals to the kitchen and dining area including the makeup artist – Emma Lily Curren, the bridesmaids, Laura’s parents and many other family members who were staying in the house and had jetted in from across the globe to share Laura’s wedding day with her.
Laura’s parents had a wonderful spread of food laid out in the kitchen for everyone to tuck into, including crusty fresh bread, a selection of jams, juices and a beautiful tray of pastries from their local bakery, which Laura’s Dad had been sent to collect. As the morning passed by, the breakfast items were later replaced with trays of fresh sandwiches and sparkling wine.
Laura and her bridesmaids were delightful, we chatted away as I transformed their hair. Laura went for an elegant up do, which was finished with a stunning hair vine by Ivy and Pearl. The bridesmaids all had their hair down, with soft curls and braids, later adorned by small fresh white roses prepared by local florist Nordic Twigs.
As Laura and her bridesmaids snuck off upstairs to step into their beautiful gowns, I treated myself to a sneaky peak of the garden, which is where the wedding reception was to be held. As I stepped outside, passed the beautiful patio areas (and swimming pool!), I instantly spotted the most sensational marquee, surrounded by trees and fairy lights. I headed towards it and stepped inside. My jaw dropped to the ground! A beautiful cream carpet had been laid, glass chandeliers had been hung, white tables with chivari chairs were dotted around the room and a mirrored bar was being assembled. The room was finished with stunning flowers to match the bouquets in soft pinks and whites – everything was so elegant!
Once I’d picked my jaw up off the ground, I went back into the house, to place Laura’s veil and do a final check over to make sure there wasn’t a hair or grip out of place. The girls all looked sensational. Laura had chosen a fitted lace gown, finished with a cathedral length veil and lace edging – stunning! The bridesmaids were in dusky lilac gowns from Monsoon – equally stunning!
As I left the girls to enjoy the wonderful day ahead, I spotted the fabulous cars on the drive that had arrived to collect them to take them to the church! A retro VW campervan for the bridesmaids and a classic Jaguar for Laura. So very cool!
I was delighted when Laura shared the photos from her wedding day with me, taken by Steve Fuller. I'm sure you will appreciate from the photos just how wonderful Laura's day was!
Thank you again for having me Laura and I wish you and Rich your happily ever after!
